The Nicene Creed

Wednesday, May 25, 2005
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

ang ganda ano? it contains everything that we believe in. heto ang FAITH natin. grabe talaga. bakit kaya hindi ito ang ginagamit sa Pilipinas? the version that we recite is the "children's version" kasi. hmm. nakakalungkot ano, children's version na nga lamang, minamadali pang i-recite tuwing Domingo sa Misa. sabi kasi ng iba masyadong mahaba.

kung iintindihin lamang sana natin ang mga salitang nilalaman nito, GRABE..
Lord I Give You My Heart

Words and Music by Reuben Morgan

This is my desire: to honor You.
Lord with all my heart I worship You.
All I have within me, I give You praise.
All that I adore is in You.

Lord I give You my heart,
I give You my soul, I live for You alone.
Every breath that I take,
Every moment I'm awake,
Lord have Your way in me.

lost phone

Tuesday, May 24, 2005
don't text or call me anymore at my old number. nadukutan po ako kahapon sa makati. oh well. ganyan talaga ang buhay.. at least iyon lamang ang nakuha.

i already emailed or sent through Y!m my new number to some of you. kung magte-text kayo, pakisulat lamang kung sino kayo para malinaw tayo, okay? okay!

sa ibang balita...

i applied for my passport yesterday. we were at the DFA at around 6 in the morning. we finished at around past eight am. their system was okay. feeling ko nag-re-reg ako. haha. muntik pa nga akong umulit eh.. i didn't know that the original documents were needed (wala namang naka-specify sa requirements eh).. deep inside i was already praying na sana tanggapin na nung girl.. sabi ko sa Kanya kung hindi talaga para sa akin na sumama, huwag na. pero tinanggap eh.

take a walk!

Wednesday, May 11, 2005
This May 21, Take a Walk on the Child's Side
Everyone is aware about the sad state of education in the Philippines – the lack of schoolbooks, the quality of teaching, the worn-down classrooms that leak when it rains, the lack of running water in school bathrooms.

But is there something we can do about it? Are you feeling the frustration that comes from just hearing complaints, but no action?

Now, in just one afternoon, you can do something about it. Bring your family and friends and show them what it means to walk the walk, rather than just being content to talk the talk. Here's a really simple but strong statement that you can make for the future of Filipino children.

STEP 1: Register as a walker (pdf form attached with this e-mail) and fax to 849-69-66. You can also call 849-69-00 for details on registration. You can choose to walk 2.5 kilometers (an easy 30-minute walk), 5 km (around an hour's walk), and 7.5 kilometers (around an hour and a half).

STEP 2: Get as many people as you can to understand why you decided to walk, and get them to donate to Unicef because of your walk. They can choose to donate P250, P500, or P750 just for you to walk. They can choose to donate any amount, regardless of the distance you walk.

For instance, if you chose to walk 2.5 km, you can get 4 individuals to donate P250 each and you then get to raise P1,000 to help children. Or you can ask these individuals to donate P500 each, even though you are just choosing to walk 2.5 km, and you get to raise P2,000. You can even get different individuals to donate different amounts for your walk. They can pay by cash, check, or credit card.

STEP 3: Bring friends and family to Heritage Park on May 21, 2005, 4:00 pm, and show them what it means to act on behalf of Filipino children. You can choose to have them walk with you, or just let them wait and watch as you take a leisurely stroll – and take a step in the right direction for the children in the Philippines.

For questions and inquiries or if you have a good heart and would simply like to get more information on how you can be a UNICEF VOLUNTEER and help promote the event, you can:

Call UNICEF Walkathon Hotline: 849-6900
Fax inquiries to Walkathon Fax Number: 849-6966
Visit the UNICEF Walkathon Page: http://www.unicef.org/philippines/support/sup_11.html

balitaan ko kayo kung sasama ako sa walkathon.. kung sasama ba ako, may willing mag-pledge? 5km ang lalakarin ko! :) sige na, para sa mga bata!

birthdays! birthdays!

JOLLIBEE, 100% KID-CERTIFIED

Do you know where the happiest place is for the Filipino child? It's the home of everyone's buddy bee, Jollibee!

Where else can kids have a meal made and named entirely after them like the Jollibee Kids Meal? It's the only kid-terrific meal where they not only get to eat their favorite Jollibee Yum Burger and Jolly Spaghetti, but they also get a toy to collect and treasure month after month.

Where else can kids play to their hearts content? It's only in the fun and colorful world of Jolly Kiddieland, where kids reign supreme. Here, children can safely run and roam freely, climb and dive in a sea of balls, and even get to meet new friends.

Where else can kids gather and be part of a cool club? Through the Jollibee Kids Club, youngsters are given activities that both educate and entertain. From painting contests to even pottery making, your child's creativity and social skills will be enhanced and developed.

Where else can kids have a special hour devoted especially to them? Everyday, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm, the popular fast food chain celebrates Jollibee Kids Hour. It's a special time for young Jollibee patrons as they get treated to an afternoon of music, fun and laughter. Aside from kiddie activities, they'll get to meet the lovable Jollibee mascots in person and even receive special Jollibee treats.

And most important of all, apart from home and school, where else can kids learn to be good responsible young citizens? Jollibee is not only a happy haven for kids, it's also a learning ground for youngsters to be taught values education, which could spell a positive difference in society. With the Jollibee Kids campaign, three tracks were developed to give students a well-formed education beyond the usual ABCs that is based on values formation. These are the Jollibee Kids Learn, Jollibee Kids Read, and Jollibee Kids Share.

In Jollibee Kids Learn, the popular fast food chain teamed up with the Department of Education (Dep-Ed) and Mary Lindbert International to create a new curriculum for 1st and 2nd grade students with a strong emphasis on Values Education. The program is currently being integrated in 28 elementary schools in the National Capital Region (NCR).

To build a nation of readers is what the Jollibee Kids Read aims to achieve. In partnership with the Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation (SAS), Jollibee has developed a reading program that promotes literacy among public school students.

Charity and goodwill are the values behind Jollibee Kids Share. Through the annual MaAGA ang Pasko sa Jollibee, a toy and book drive, children are inspired to share and make other kids happy through gift-giving. Jollibee hopes that the young will imbibe this altruistic virtue, not only during Christmas time, but also for the rest of their daily lives.

So why is Jollibee the best place for the Filipino child? More than just a place to simply dine with family and friends, Jollibee is everyone's second home, where childhood lives, where happiness reigns supreme, and where values are nurtured.

my cubao adventure

Monday, May 02, 2005
(haha, ang corny ng title)

mom, kuya, ate carla, guwapo matt, and melay went to tagaytay. dad is at work (at casa medica, all the way in zapote). and i'm here at home. home alone. sigh. i really wanted to go with them (mom, et al), but there was a meeting with the PR Committee regarding the org tours.

the meeting was at 11am this morning and it lasted for only an hour (or less). i didn't want to go home yet, since no one was there! so (kuya) victor, (ate) chette, (ate) mayan, (ate) jenica, and i ate at jabee. as usual i ordered the same meal. (ate tish, hulaan mo kung ano!)

after that, i went to gateway mall. actually, i was supposed to go to shang, but when i reached araneta center-cubao, i decided that i'll just go to gateway (there were several benefits kasi, like i didn't have to ride the jeep all the way to shang, and ride another jeep pauwi.. if i went to gateway, i'd just ride the train again.. BUT it cost more). my ultimate goal was to find a national bookstore, because i need to buy a hallmark card. (oo, kailangan hallmark! maarte ako.) but before i found the national, i had several stop-overs. plus, i didn't know where to find the national bookstore there!

so i searced for the store all over the vicinity (hindi naman all over cubao, sa vicinity lamang ng gateway, meaning sa loob ng gateway hanggang sa palibot nito). after a while (actually, medyo matagal rin), i finally saw the store! woohoo! i felt so happy when i saw their red sign, and i entered the store feeling that i found sanctuary. hahaha.

i only had a few bucks in my pocket, so i felt soooo frustrated when i saw all those books on sale. i saw this one title and i liked it so much, but it cost Php300!! waah. i only had P260. oh well. national bookstore-cubao is soooo nice! i like it!!! it's now one of my favorite places in the world! it's so big (ate rose said it's the biggest branch)! wheee.

i bought the card which i had to buy, by the way.

haaay.
kita mo na, gagawin ko ang lahat para sa iyo. now all i have to do is write the letter.
happy 11th month-sary sa blog ko. :)
