sigh

Saturday, December 31, 2005
i was reading their sentiments, and i couldn't help but feel sad.. i felt that way because there was a void in me.. how come i didn't feel the same way as they did? how come in my second year here, still i couldn't feel it?

i really want to have more reasons to stay. (not that my reason now is shallow, i think my reason now is truly great), it's just that i want something more. it shouldn't be this way.

i hope things become better. it's hard to work with all these in mind.

i hope i'll feel the same way as them.

haay. still searching.

Maligayang Pasko! Ü

angels

little kids are angels.

i thank God for little kids. they just make me feel so nice. Matthew, for example, is a very gwapo and matalino angel sent to us. when he first called me "Ninang Jaymee," grabe, my heart melted. when he calls me "Love," i cannot explain the joy bursting from my heart. when i come home from school, i feel refreshed when i get a hug and kiss from him.

now, i can't wait til his baby sister/brother (don't know yet) comes to this world. our family would be blessed with another angel...

(and ate marie is also expecting! she's due to give birth today.)

nagsisilbi tayo, hindi dahil gusto natin, ngunit dahil tinawag tayo

Saturday, December 24, 2005

Simbang Gabi

kagabi ang huling Simbang Gabi sa Gesu. (pero hindi ko naman kumpleto eh)
Masaya ako sa Misang iyon. Ang daming biyayang ibinigay si Lord. (hehe, pero hindi pwede ikuwento rito)

Masaya ako.

*big smile*

J, your destiny is to be a Protector

Whether you know it or not, this is the role that is most in tune with who you are at your core. As a Protector, you have an exceptional gift for guiding and comforting others when no one else is willing or able because you actually feel their pain as if it were your own. If you could insulate those you love from all hardship, you would consider that your greatest accomplishment. You offer caring and thoughtful advice that helps others heal and move in a positive direction, but you don't call attention to yourself, choosing rather to selflessly give to others in order to make the world a better place. This sense of duty and exceptional work ethic will get you far in life, however, it can lead to frustration when you don't get the appreciation you deserve. Remember to take care of yourself because if you feel good others will feel reassured by your steady, prudent, and methodical ways, and the world really will be a better place!

It is Christmas, Christmas that lasts forever

Friday, December 23, 2005
AND NOW GOD SAYS TO US what He has already said to the world as a whole
through His grace-filled birth:

I AM there
I AM with you.
I AM your life.
I AM your time.
I AM the gloom of your daily routine. Why will you not bear it?
I weep your tears; pour out yours to me, my child.
I AM your joy. Do not be afraid to be happy,
joy is the standard of living that is really
more suitable than the anxiety and grief
of those who think they have no hope.

I AM the blind alleys of all your paths,
for when you no longer know how to go any farther,
then you have reached me, foolish child, though you are not aware of it.

I AM in your anxiety, for I have shared it by suffering it.
And in doing so, I wasn't even heroic
according to the wisdom of the world.

I AM in the prison of your finiteness,
for my love has made me your prisoner.
When the total of your plans and of your life's experiences
do not balance out evenly,
I AM the unsolved remainder, which makes you so frantic.
This is reality, my love,
that you do not yet understand.

I AM present in your needs.
I have suffered them and
they are now transformed,
but not obliterated from my heart.
This reality, incomprehensible wonder of my almighty love,
I have sheltered safely and completely,
in the cold stable of your world.

I AM there! I no longer go away from this world,
even if you do not see me now.

I AM there. It is Christmas. Light the candles.
They have more right to exist than all the darkness.
It is Christmas, Christmas that lasts forever.

Social Awareness

Just this morning, while we were at the gasoline station, there was a taong grasa taking a "bath" using the station's water supply. Matthew was staring at the man intently, so I asked him what he was thinking.

"Matt, what's the man doing?"
"The mama (man) is taking a bath outside, because he has no house."

He paused and then added,
"Like the other bata, none house, only sleeping on the floor, wawa."

I was amazed at what he said. I didn't know that at his age, he was already observant of his surroundings. At his age, he knew that these people had no houses to sleep in, or even to take a bath in.

Sometimes we just pass these people by. We often just ignore them, sometimes even telling them to get out of our way. But really, if we tell them to get out of our way, where will they go? As Matt said, they had no houses. They slept on the floor. On the cold streets.

I often wonder, how could they survive? They sleep on the streets, with just a piece of carton to warm their backs. As much as I want to help them, I feel that I couldn't help them enough. The feeling of helplessness surfaces. When I see these people, I badly want to reach inside their hearts, but it's not an easy thing to do.

Hay, naguluhan ako.

TASK FORCE NOAH: Mindoro Relief Operations

Thursday, December 22, 2005

Dear Friends,

Continuous heavy rains spawned by several weather disturbances for the past week have caused severe flooding in Oriental Mindoro. This has
caused the protective dike surrounding the city of Calapan and the towns of Baco and Naujan to collapse.

As of 6 PM, December 19, nearly 20,000 families composed of 100,000 individuals have been affected and thousands have fled to 38 evacuation centers.

This is a flash appeal issued by the multisectoral Task Force Noah for canned goods, rice, noodles, drinking water, blankets, and medicines
(specifically for colds and diarrhea).

Donations in kind may be dropped off at Eliazo Hall, Ateneo de Manila University, starting today 20 December 2005, at 10 AM.

Cash and check donations can be left with the porter of Loyola House of Studies. Kindly address all checks to:
SIMBAHANG LINGKOD NG BAYAN (BPI Account # 3081-1111-61).

We are also appealing for volunteers to staff the task force center and help sort/ pack the goods, at the Eliazo Hall basement, starting today at 5 PM,
20 December 2005.

Please contact Bobby Guevara and/or Michelle Juan at 0920-9225674 for further information.

We urgently appeal for your support and prayers for all our affected countrymen.  Kindly forward this appeal to your friends and network.

Thank you.

A Christmas Prayer
by Robert Louis Stevenson

Loving Father,
Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate
and open the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift
and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing
which Christ brings,
and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning
make us happy to be thy children,
and Christmas evening bring us to our beds
with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven,
for Jesus' sake.

Amen

sa paglalakbay sa ating buhay

Saturday, December 10, 2005
sa paglalakbay sa ating buhay,
marami tayong madaraanang bagay.
maaaring makapagdulot sa atin ng saya,
o hindi nama'y sakit.
may mga bagay na dumarating,
na tila hindi naman natin kakailanganin.
pero lahat ng ito'y dumaraan,
lahat ng ito'y lumilipas--
--lumilipas, ngunit hindi nawawala...

sa paglalakbay sa ating buhay,
maraming kundisyon ang ating mararanasan.
mayroong pagkakataon na lahat tayo ay masaya--
--mataas ang sikat ng araw,
presko ang hanging dumadampi sa atin,
ang lahat ay napupuno ng buhay.
ngunit minsan naman ay hindi maiiwasang
maging malungkot--

mapuputikan,
masusugatan.
ngunit sa pagkadapa'y maaaring tumayo.
ang putik, maaaring hugasan.
ang sugat, maghihilom.
ngunit pakatatandaan:
madilim man ang daan,
parating may magdudulot ng liwanag.
nariyan ang mga bituin,
na magsisilbing ating gabay.
mga munting paalala
na huwag mawawalan ng pag-asa.

sa paglalakbay sa ating buhay,
napakaraming matututunan.
maraming pagdaraanan.

sa paglalakbay sa ating buhay,
malayo pa ang pupuntahan.

sa paglalakbay sa ating buhay...

Let the Pain Remain

Friday, December 02, 2005
(Willy Cruz)

Love comes, love goes
But a certain feeling never lets me be
Somehow I know
Quite a part of me's unchanged since you've been gone
Like a sturdy tree that's seen a thousand seasons
I still shed my leaves in winter
To grow them back in spring
To welcome life again
To welcome you

So goes my life
Still believing dreams of having you around
Too bad, memories
Feed the mind and not the heart where I want you to be
So I ask myself what you have left behind for me
To go on each day to live as if
I had you once again
What else is there that's real
But all the pain that I feel?

So let the pain remain forever in my heart
For every throb it brings is
One more moment spent with you
I'll let the pain bring on the rain
If that's the only way
If there's no other way to be with you again

So goes my life
Still believing dreams of having you around
Too bad, memories
Feed the mind and not the heart where I want you to be
So I ask myself what you have left behind for me
To go on each day to live as if
I had you once again
What else is there that's real
But all the pain that I feel?

So let the pain remain forever in my heart
For every throb it brings is
One more moment spent with you
I'll let the pain bring on the rain
If that's the only way
If there's no other way to be with you again

Oooh...so let the pain remain forever in my heart
For every throb it brings is
One more moment spent with you
I'll let the pain bring on the rain
If that's the only way (if that's the only way)
If there's no other way to be with you again

You Are Mine

Sunday, November 27, 2005
I will come to you in the silence,
I will lift you from all our fear.
You will hear my voice,
I claim you as my choice,
be still and know I am here.

Refrain:
Do not be afraid, I am with you.
I have called you each by name.
Come and follow me,
I will bring you home;
I love you and you are mine.

I am hope for all who are hopeless,
I am eyes for all who long to see.
In the shadows of the night,
I will be our light,
come and rest in me.

I am strength for all the despairing.
Healing for the ones who dwell in shame.
All the blind will see, the lame will all run free,
and all will know my name.

I am the Word that leads all to freedom,
I am the peace the world cannot give.
I will call your name, embracing all your pain,
stand up, now walk, and live!

yan ang buong lyrics nung kanta. :)

Ang Bible laging on time ang message.

"Gumising! Gumising
mga nahihimbing!
Tala’y nagniningning!
Pasko na! Gumising!"

pero Easter pa rin ang favorite ko.

When You Say Nothing At All

Tuesday, November 01, 2005
It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word, you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing

Chorus:
The smile on your face let's me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

Verse 2:
All alone I can hear people talking outloud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Old Mr. Webster could never define
What's being said between your heart and mine

(Chorus twice)

Everybody Hurts

Saturday, October 29, 2005
R.E.M.

When your day is long
And the night
The night is yours alone
When you think you've had enough of this life
Well hang on

Don't let yourself go
Cause everybody cries
And everybody hurts
Sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong
Now it's time to sing along
- When your day is night alone -
Hold on, hold on
- If you feel like letting go -
Hold on
If you're sure you've had too much of this life
Hang on

Cause everybody hurts, sometimes
Take comfort in your friends
And everybody hurts

Don't blow your head
Oh, no
Don't blow your head
If you feel like you're alone
No, no, no, you're not alone

If you're on your own
In this life
And the days and nights are long
If you're sure you've had too much
Of this life
To hang on

Well, everybody hurts
Sometimes, everybody cries
Sometimes, everybody hurts
Sometimes

And everybody hurts
Sometimes

So, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on
- Cause no you are not alone -

thank you, anne for being with me last night (12mn!) even if sa telepono lang.

Somebody

-Depeche Mode

I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts
Know my intimate details
Someone who'll stand by my side
And give me support
And in return
She'll get my support
She will listen to me
When I want to speak
About the world we live in
And life in general
Though my views may be wrong
They may even be perverted
She'll hear me out
And won't easily be converted
To my way of thinking
In fact she'll often disagree
But at the end of it all
She will understand me

I want somebody who cares
For me passionately
With every thought and
With every breath
Someone who'll help me see things
In a different light
All the things I detest
I will almost like
I don't want to be tied
To anyone's strings
I'm carefully trying to steer clear of

Those things
But when I'm asleep
I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me
And kiss me tenderly
Though things like this
Make me sick
In a case like this
I'll get away with it

french article

Tuesday, October 11, 2005
look what i found. but i have no idea what it means.

vinia? carlo? where are my french-speaking friends? :)

unusual way

FINALS WEEK.

i know i should be studying, but my brain's filled with history, lit and theo already.. so i'm going to stop first.

this morning we (carlo and the rest of the block, not complete) had a "group study" for the final exams on monday. we only tackled history and a bit of literature.. for theo, we don't know. i guess theo is not meant for "Group Study".. oh well. will study tonight until tomorrow. good luck to me. i really hope i do well in my exams. this IS a very bad sem. i don't know if it's because i missed a lot of things, or whatever. i just feel so harassed. haaaaay. isang paper at limang final exmas na lamang. after non, talagang magpapakasaya ako..

good luck din sa lahat. i hope you all do well in all your requirements.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
next sem, i promise i will study HARDER. i will do BETTER.

oh, AND I STILL LOVE LIT.
leaving it does not mean that i don't like it anymore.

i hope LIT loves me, too.

Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary

Friday, October 07, 2005
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve! To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears! Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus! O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

† Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,

R: that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Dios Te Salve, Reina y Madre de Micericordia. Vida, dulzura y esperanza nuestra.

Amen.

Prayer for Final Exams*

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not flunk
He keepeth me from lying down when I should be studying
He leadeth me beside the water cooler for a study break
He restores my faith in study guides
He leads me to better study habits
For my grades' sake

Yea, though I walk through the valley of borderline grades
I will not have a nervous breakdown
For thou art with me
My prayers and my friends, they comfort me
Thou givest me the answer in moments of blankness
Thou anointest my head with understanding
My test paper runneth over with questions I recognise

Surely passing grades and flying colours shall follow me
All the days of my examinations
And I shall not have to dwell in this exam hall forever.

Saint Francis of Assisi

Amang Francisco, salamat sa inyong mabuting ehemplo.
Happy Feast Day!

The Peace Prayer of Saint Francis
"O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace!
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is discord, harmony.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sorrow, joy.

Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life."

The Serenity Prayer

Wednesday, September 28, 2005
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living ONE DAY AT A TIME;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Guidelines for Oral Exams

Thursday, September 15, 2005
(from Mr. Gilbert Jimenez)
1) State what the thesis statement as a whole is about.

2) Describe the role of each sentence relative to the thesis statement. Note conjunctions like “thus,” nevertheless,” etc that connect one sentence to another.

3) Proceed in explaining the thesis statement, defining the key words.

4) Cite the sources of the thesis statement, whether Scripture passage, church teaching or theologian.

5) Superior grasp involves using concrete examples, extra sources that illustrate, complement and enhance the thesis statement, but not replace it or cover up one’s lack of knowledge of it. Best grasp: a personal appropriation or rejection of the claims of the thesis statement.

6) It is a tradition in the Ateneo to dress up for oral exams. Wear corporate attire.

7) Finally, pray. Not only to do well in the exam (I guess Marcos did that before taking his bar exam), but to talk to God about what you intend to do with your Christian faith you received from him during your baptism.

true?

Saturday, September 10, 2005
Does your name begin with: J
You are blessed with a great deal of physical energy. When used for a good cause there is nothing to stop you, except maybe that they aren't always used for the good. (you could dance all night.) You respond to the thrill of the chase and the challenge of the mating game. You can carry on great romances in your head. At heart you are a roamer and need to set out on your own every so often. You will carry on long-distance relationships with ease. You are idealistic and need to believe in love. You have a need to be nurtured deep within.

JULY
Difficult to fathom and to be understood
Quiet unless excited or tensed
Has reputation
Easily consoled
Honest
Concern about people's feelings
Friendly
Approachable
Very emotional
Unpredictable and temperamental
Moody and easily hurt
Witty and sarky
Sentimental
Neither forgives nor forgets
Caring and loving
Strong sense of sympathy
Judge people through observations
Loves to be alone
Always broods about the past and the old friends
Likes to be quiet
Waits for friends
Not aggressive unless provoked
Loves to be loved
Easily hurt and takes long to recover
Overly concerned
Puts in effort in work

Cancer
Turn ons
Try to adapt yourself with the changing moods of the Cancer. At one
moment they may be laughing and enjoying and in another moment they may
cry or sulk. You may have to adjust with the moody and sensitive Cancer.
They are like the tides in the ocean always fluctuating. Cancer people
love food so if you know how to cook and can be poetic and romantic
(added Bonus) then you know the way to their heart.

Turn offs
Cancerians are very sensitive people and can get easily hurt. So do not
play with their emotions and sentiments. They are like tides that can
take you with it. They form emotional bonds with even inanimate things
too so do not ask them to discard old caps or souvenirs these things
hold special meaning to them. You have to realize that the crabs have soft
heart and are vulnerable. Do not contradict their tested line of
thought and action it would only lead to confusion.

"Never give up"

Thursday, September 08, 2005
It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God. For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a positive answer for
it.

You say: "It's impossible"
God says: All things are possible
(Luke 18:27)

You say: "I'm too tired"
God says: I will give you rest
(Matthew 11:28-30)

You say: "Nobody really loves me"
God says: I love you
(John 3:16 & John 3:34)

You say: "I can't go on"
God says: My grace is sufficient
(II Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15)

You say: "I can't figure things out"
God says: I will direct your steps
(Proverbs 3:5-6)

You say: "I can't do it"
God says: You can do all things
(Philippians 4:13)

You say: "I'm not able"
God says: I am able
(II Corinthians 9:8)

You say: "It's not worth it"
God says: It will be worth it
(Romans 8:28)

You say: "I can't forgive myself"
God says: I Forgive you
(I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)

You say: "I can't manage"
God says: I will supply all your needs
(Philippians 4:19)

You say: "I'm afraid"
God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear
(II Timothy 1:7)

You say: "I'm always worried and frustrated"
God says: Cast all your cares on ME
(I Peter 5:7)

You say: "I don't have enough faith"
God says: I've given everyone a measure of faith
(Romans 12:3)

You say: "I'm not smart enough"
God says: I give you wisdom
(I Corinthians 1:30)

You say: "I feel all alone"
God says: I will never leave you or forsake you
(Hebrews 13:5)

Believe God is there just for you..
YOU NEVER KNOW WHO MAY BE IN NEED

Regina Coeli (Caeli)

O, queen of heaven, rejoice! Alleluia.
For He whom thou didst merit to bear, Alleluia,
Hath arisen as He said, Alleluia.
Pray for us to God, Alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary. Alleluia.
For the Lord hath risen indeed. Alleluia.
Oremus
O God, who, through the Resurrection of Thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ,
Didst vouchsafe to fill the world with joy; grant, we beseech Thee, that, through His Virgin Mother, Mary,
We may lay hold on the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.

The Catholic Missionaries in the Teaching of Vatican II

Thursday, September 01, 2005
“When God calls, a man he must reply without taking counsel with flesh and blood (cf. Gal. 1-16) and give himself fully to the work of the Gospel… He must be prepared to remain faithful to his vocation for life, to renounce himself and everything that up to this he possessed as his own, and “to make himself all things to all men” (1 Cor. 9:22).

In preaching the Gospel to the nations the missionary will proclaim with confidence the mystery of Christ whose legate he is, so that in him he will dare to speak as he ought (cf. Eph. 6:19 ff.; Acts 4:31), not being ashamed of the scandal of the Cross. Meek and humble, following in the footsteps of his master, he will show that his yoke is sweet and his burden light (Mt. 11:29 ff.). By a truly evangelical life, with great patience and longanimity, in kindness and unfeigned love (cf. 2 Cor. 6:4 ff.) he will bear witness to his Lord, if necessary to the shedding of his blood. He will ask God for strength and courage, and in the midst of great affliction and abject poverty, he will know abundance of joy (cf. 2 Cor. 8:2). [….]

The future missionary must be prepared for such an important task by a special spiritual and moral formation. He must be prompt to take the initiative, constant in carrying out an undertaking, persevering in difficulties, patient and strong of heart in bearing loneliness, exhaustion, and fruitless labor. He must approach men with an open mind and heart, he must willingly accept the duties entrusted to him; and generously accommodate himself to the different customs and the changing circumstances of other peoples. In harmony and mutual love he will cooperate with his brethren and with all who dedicate themselves to this work, so that together with the faithful, and imitating the apostolic community, they might be of one heart and soul. (Cf. Acts 2:42; 4:32)”
(Decree “Ad Gentes” nos. 24-25)

Looking for Jesus

Wednesday, August 31, 2005
It is so hard to look for Jesus. Like the Magi, we’ve traveled long distances to go to different activities where we could “find” Jesus. During the first days of the World Youth Day, I complained that the trips from one point to another would always take so long—waiting for the right train would take at least half an hour then the travel time would be at least an hour. I complained that we had to walk so far and that my feet hurt. I complained that we do not get our food on time (or not even get our meals at all).

During one of the train trips, I realized that all of those things were part of it all. I had to learn to accept things and to look at the situations differently. This pilgrimage was not all about fun. This was not all about comfort. This was about the sacrifices that we had to make in order to truly see Him. It was about understanding why things happen and learning a thing or two from them. It was about “Finding God in all things!”

The simple things such as the train rides, the long walks, the people we meet, getting lost, or asking for help from other people are really very important things. The World Youth Day was not just about the structured activities that the organizers prepared for the pilgrims, but it was also about the other things that we’ve experienced beyond all those.

Now, as I look back, I can appreciate the long train rides because those long hours we spend on trains were the only hours left for ourselves. Most of the time, I got to use train rides as times when I could reflect on all the things that happened within the day. Train rides would also mean long discussions on a myriad of things with other pilgrims.

Like the Magi, I am proud to say that I’ve found Jesus in my pilgrimage during the World Youth Day. Instead of a child lying in a manger, I found Jesus in the form of a lot of things. I found Jesus in the presence of the other pilgrims. I found Jesus in the form of all the difficulties and all the good things we’ve encountered.

I found Jesus. I have come and will continue to worship Him!
Come, now is the time to worship
Come, now is the time to give your heart
Come, just as you are to worship
Come, just as you are before your God
Come

One day every tongue will confess You are God
One day every knee will bow
Still, the greates treasure remains for those
Who glady choose You now

Dear all,

Hello everyone. My flight is just a few hours away (and I still have a lot of things to do! Wala pa akong flashlight!!).

Anyway..

I would like to thank everyone for supporting me.

Without all your help, this dream wouldn't be a reality. Several months ago, World Youth Day was just a brochure for me. An invitation to an experience that I know would be once in a lifetime. I thought that it would just remain that way, since I knew that financially speaking, it was already impossible.

Impossible?!?

One thing I’ve learned from this experience (see, wala pa ang WYD, marami na akong natutunan) is that “With God, all things are possible!” Cliché, but so true. At the start, there were a lot of tears and anxieties, which in the end turned out to be all useless. There was nothing to worry about. I just had to put my trust in Him.

I gathered my self together. I put all my fears aside and I courageously said to myself, “Makakapunta ako sa WYD. Pero kung hindi talaga maaari, dahil sa kung ano mang kadahilanan, wala akong mararamdamang sama ng loob. Bahala na Siya sa akin at sa kung anong mangyayari.” I thought of ways to gather the money. I thought of selling cards and stickers. I asked help from people. When I put my faith in Him, blessings started to pour in from everywhere. But of course I still had my worries every once in a while, at walang paltos, the Lord would remind me that He is still in control.

Thank you also for those who have encouraged me to pursue this. I would have given up last May, but a lot of you helped me hang on. Thank you for listening to my worries tirelessly, and for all of your advices. Minsan kasi nakakalimot ako.

Sige na po. I still need to fix my things (and buy that flashlight!). I really appreciate all of the things you have done for me. Habambuhay kong aalalahanin ang lahat ng ito. Thank you all for being part of this great experience in my life.

God bless us all!

Muchas gracias!

section forty

section 40!

naka-senti mode ako ngayon, kaya
magsusulat ako ng testi for my beloved
section..

sa section na ito, marami akong
natutunan.. alam na ng lahat na KAMI
ang pinakamagaling sa buong batch (go
40!) kung paguusapan ang acads,
intrams, pero hindi sa Classroom
Improvement Program. hehe. maraming
pinagdaanan ang grupong ito.. una sa
lahat, ay ang pagkakaiba-iba ng mga
estudyante. dahil pinaghalong 30 at 31
ang bumubuo sa 40, hindi naiwasang
magkaroon ng hidwaan noong simula.
naging isang grupo ang galing sa 30, at
ganoon din ang nangyari sa 31.. pero
pinaglaunan, nalampasan na rin namin
ang suliraning iyon. kami ay naging
ISANG section.. isang PAMILYA.

I MISS YOU ALL!! >:D<

magkikita-kita tayong muli.

Good day!

My 18th birthday is just a few days away, and instead of a traditional debutante ball, I planned to celebrate this special day by giving a party for thirty (30) kids at the Unang Hakbang Foundation, Mandaluyong City.
Instead of gifts, I am requesting that you bring small gifts (e.g. crayons, notebooks) which would serve as prizes for the games. You may also opt to donate cash or even bring food (but please coordinate with me if you will bring food).

This party is for our brothers and sisters who may not always experience a celebration during their own birthdays. Let this be their own birthday party. :)

Celebrate this day with me and the kids. Thank you and God bless your generous heart.

Yours,

Jaymee Duran

backpack

tapos either RESIGN or IMPEACH or whatever.

Leave all you were to become what God calls you to be. The worthiness of following your calling depends on your attitude of following God.

Preparation of WYD 2005

Monday, June 27, 2005
Lord Jesus Christ,
Saviour of the World,
You became man,
to give us a life in abundance.
You promised to remain with us in Your Church
until the end of time.
Then Your Kingdom will come:
a new heaven and earth
full of love, justice and peace.
This is our hope, our foundation.
Thanks be to You.

Lord, we pray:
Bless the young people around the world.
Reveal Yourself to those who are searching for You.
Awake those who do not believe in You.
Strengthen the faith of those who confess You.
Let them continuously set out to You
like the three Wise Men from the East.
Make them architects of a new civilisation of love
and witnesses of hope for the whole world.
Through them be close to those
who suffer from hunger, war and violence.

Inspire by Your Holy Spirit those who are contributing
the preparations of World Youth Day 2005.
Make them serve Your kingdom
with the power of their faith and their love
and let them welcome their brothers and sisters
from all over the world with open hearts.

Lord, You gave us Mary as our mother.
Let Her be our advocate for World Youth Day
so that it becomes a celebration of faith.
Bless Your Church with new strength these days,
so that She can become a credible witness for You.

We ask this through You, our Lord and God,
living in the unity with the Father and the Holy Spirit,
reigning forever and ever. Amen.

we went to divisoria today to buy giveaways for rec week, and also to buy stuff for my party. yay!

then we went to the Manila Cathedral to pay our respects to (+)H.E. Jaime Cardinal L. Sin. there were a lot of people there. we waited for a long time before we saw him. it was worth the wait. i mean, he did a lot of things for us, so it was okay to stand in line for a long time. I love you Cardinal Sin! You are a BLESSING to us.

oh, and let us all pray for our country.. totoong nagkakagulo na sa atin. i hope everything turns out okay. i still have HOPE for this country. i BELIEVE we could still rise from this.

******* The Analysis Starts Here *******

Jaymee exaggerates about everything that has a physical nature. Although she may not intend to deceive or mislead, she blows things way out of proportion because that is the way she views them. She will be a good story teller. This exaggeration relates to all areas of her material world. Jaymee allows many people into her life because she is accepting and trusting. She is sometimes called gullible by her friends. That only really means that she trusts too many people. Jaymee has a vivid imagination.

Jaymee has a healthy imagination and displays a fair amount of trust. She lets new people into her circle of friends. She uses her imagination to understand new ideas, things, and people.

Jaymee is selective when picking friends. She does not trust everyone. She has a select group of people that are truly close to her, usually two or three. She is careful when choosing her inner circle of friends.

Jaymee is constantly disappointed when trying to reach success. She works very hard, perhaps harder than most, then just before succeeding, something happens that keeps her from success. Often, Jaymee changes to a second project just before the first one is finished, thus failing to complete the first project. Sometimes she changes because she feels she needs a different challenge. Jaymee feels dejected. This feeling relates to her failures. This trait is very important in a working situation and in a relationship. She must be handled in a very special way to get the most work from her or to make a relationship last. Concerning this trait, personality modification is available to change her life.

Something is incomplete in Jaymee's life. She feels frustration relating to her physical needs and desires. Somewhere in her life there is some disappointment, non-fulfillment, and interruption. This is very likely to relate to Jaymee's sexual needs.

Jaymee is very self-sufficient. She is trying not to need anyone. She is capable of making it on her own. She probably wants and enjoys people, but she doesn't "need" them. She can be a loner.

Jaymee is a practical person whose goals are planned, practical, and down to earth. This is typical of people with normal healthy self-esteem. She needs to visualize the end of a project before she starts. she finds joy in anticipation and planning. >Notice that I said she plans everything she is going to do, that doesn't necessarily mean things go as planned. Jaymee basically feels good about herself. She has a positive self-esteem which contributes to her success. She feels she has the ability to achieve anything she sets her mind to. However, she sets her goals using practicality-- not too "out of reach". She has enough self-confidence to leave a bad situation, yet, she will not take great risks, as they relate to her goals. A good esteem is one key to a happy life. Although there is room for improvement in the confidence catagery, her self-perception is better than average.

In reference to Jaymee's mental abilities, she has a very investigating and creating mind. She investigates projects rapidly because she is curious about many things. She gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but she soon must slow down and look at all the angles. She probably gets too many things going at once. When Jaymee slows down, then she becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, she must slow down to do it. She then decides what projects she has time to finish. Thus she finishes at a slower pace than when she started the project. She has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. Her mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. She can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Jaymee can then switch into her low gear. When she is in the slower mode, she can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. She is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.

Jaymee is secretive. She has secrets which she does not wish to share with others. She intentionally conceals things about herself. She has a private side that she intends to keep that way, especially concerning certain events in her past.

Jaymee is sensitive to criticism about her ideas and philosophies. She will sometimes worry what people will think if she tells them what she believes in. This doesn't mean she won't talk, or that she feels ashamed. It merely means she is sensitive to what others think, regarding her beliefs.

Jaymee is moderately outgoing. Her emotions are stirred by sympathy and heart rendering stories. In fact, she can be kind, friendly, affectionate and considerate of others. She has the ability to put herself into the other person's shoes. Jaymee will be somewhat moody, with highs and lows. Sometimes she will be happy, the next day she might be sad. She has the unique ability to get along equally well with what psychology calls introverts and extroverts. This is because she is in between. Psychology calls Jaymee an ambivert. She understands the needs of both types. Although they get along, she will not tolerate anyone that is too "far out." She doesn't sway too far one way or the other. When convincing her to buy a product or an idea, a heart rendering story could mean a great deal to her. She puts herself in the same situation as the person in the story, yet she will not buy anything that seems overly impractical or illogical. Jaymee is an expressive person. She outwardly shows her emotions. She may even show traces of tears when hearing a sad story. Jaymee is a "middle-of-the-roader," politically as well as logically. She weighs both sides of an issue, sits on the fence, and then will decide when she finally has to. She basically doesn't relate to any far out ideas and usually won't go to the extreme on any issue.

People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Jaymee doesn't write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.

Jaymee has a desire for attention. People around Jaymee will notice this need. She may fulfill this need by a variety of ways depending on her own character.
tomorrow's my interview for WYD.

The Nicene Creed

Wednesday, May 25, 2005
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

ang ganda ano? it contains everything that we believe in. heto ang FAITH natin. grabe talaga. bakit kaya hindi ito ang ginagamit sa Pilipinas? the version that we recite is the "children's version" kasi. hmm. nakakalungkot ano, children's version na nga lamang, minamadali pang i-recite tuwing Domingo sa Misa. sabi kasi ng iba masyadong mahaba.

This is my desire: to honor You.
Lord with all my heart I worship You.
All I have within me, I give You praise.
All that I adore is in You.

Lord I give You my heart,
I give You my soul, I live for You alone.
Every breath that I take,
Every moment I'm awake,
Lord have Your way in me.

don't text or call me anymore at my old number. nadukutan po ako kahapon sa makati. oh well. ganyan talaga ang buhay.. at least iyon lamang ang nakuha.

i already emailed or sent through Y!m my new number to some of you. kung magte-text kayo, pakisulat lamang kung sino kayo para malinaw tayo, okay? okay!

sa ibang balita...

i applied for my passport yesterday. we were at the DFA at around 6 in the morning. we finished at around past eight am. their system was okay. feeling ko nag-re-reg ako. haha. muntik pa nga akong umulit eh.. i didn't know that the original documents were needed (wala namang naka-specify sa requirements eh).. deep inside i was already praying na sana tanggapin na nung girl.. sabi ko sa Kanya kung hindi talaga para sa akin na sumama, huwag na. pero tinanggap eh.

take a walk!

Wednesday, May 11, 2005
This May 21, Take a Walk on the Child's Side
Everyone is aware about the sad state of education in the Philippines – the lack of schoolbooks, the quality of teaching, the worn-down classrooms that leak when it rains, the lack of running water in school bathrooms.

But is there something we can do about it? Are you feeling the frustration that comes from just hearing complaints, but no action?

Now, in just one afternoon, you can do something about it. Bring your family and friends and show them what it means to walk the walk, rather than just being content to talk the talk. Here's a really simple but strong statement that you can make for the future of Filipino children.

STEP 1: Register as a walker (pdf form attached with this e-mail) and fax to 849-69-66. You can also call 849-69-00 for details on registration. You can choose to walk 2.5 kilometers (an easy 30-minute walk), 5 km (around an hour's walk), and 7.5 kilometers (around an hour and a half).

STEP 2: Get as many people as you can to understand why you decided to walk, and get them to donate to Unicef because of your walk. They can choose to donate P250, P500, or P750 just for you to walk. They can choose to donate any amount, regardless of the distance you walk.

For instance, if you chose to walk 2.5 km, you can get 4 individuals to donate P250 each and you then get to raise P1,000 to help children. Or you can ask these individuals to donate P500 each, even though you are just choosing to walk 2.5 km, and you get to raise P2,000. You can even get different individuals to donate different amounts for your walk. They can pay by cash, check, or credit card.

STEP 3: Bring friends and family to Heritage Park on May 21, 2005, 4:00 pm, and show them what it means to act on behalf of Filipino children. You can choose to have them walk with you, or just let them wait and watch as you take a leisurely stroll – and take a step in the right direction for the children in the Philippines.
