"Purity of heart is to will one thing." - Kierkegaard

Tuesday, July 29, 2008
First Letter of John 4,7-16.

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God. Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love. In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him. In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another. No one has ever seen God. Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us, and his love is brought to perfection in us. This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us of his Spirit. Moreover, we have seen and testify that the Father sent his Son as savior of the world. Whoever acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him and he in God. We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.

Psalms 34(33),2-11.

I will bless the LORD at all times; praise shall be always in my mouth.
My soul will glory in the LORD that the poor may hear and be glad.
Magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, who answered me, delivered me from all my fears.
Look to God that you may be radiant with joy and your faces may not blush for shame.
In my misfortune I called, the LORD heard and saved me from all distress.
The angel of the LORD, who encamps with them, delivers all who fear God.
Learn to savor how good the LORD is; happy are those who take refuge in him.
Fear the LORD, you holy ones; nothing is lacking to those who fear him.
The powerful grow poor and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 10,38-42.

As they continued their journey he entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary (who) sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me." The Lord said to her in reply, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her."

Beautiful Disaster

Sunday, July 27, 2008
Kelly Clarkson

He drowns in his dreams
An exquisite extreme I know
He’s as damned as he seems
And more heaven than a heart could hold
And if I try to save him
My whole world could cave in
It just ain't right
It just ain't right

Oh and I don't know
I don't know what he's after
But he's so beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster
And if I could hold on
Through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful?
Or just a beautiful disaster

He's magic and myth
As strong as what I believe
A tragedy with
More damage than a soul should see
And do I try to change him?
So hard not to blame him
Hold on tight
Hold on tight

Oh 'cause I don't know
I don't know what he's after
But he’s so beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster
And if I could hold on
Through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful?
Or just a beautiful disaster

I'm longing for love and the logical
But he's only happy hysterical
I'm waiting for some kind of miracle
Waited so long
So long

He’s soft to the touch
But frayed at the end he breaks
He’s never enough
And still he's more than I can take

Oh 'cause I don't know
I don't know what he's after
But he's so beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster
And if I could hold on
Through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful?
Or just a beautiful disaster

He’s beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster

[Fading]
Beautiful
(Beautiful disaster)
Beautiful disaster

All things work for good for those who love God

Letter to the Romans 8,28-30.

We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined he also called; and those he called he also justified; and those he justified he also glorified.

blessed are your eyes

Saturday, July 26, 2008
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 13,16-17.

But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear. Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

Pack Rat

Thursday, July 24, 2008
The other day I showed my copy of a program of a play that I recently watched to my officemates. One of them said "You actually bought a program?" I replied, "Yes, I collect programs." She looked at me weirdly and told me that I was a pack rat.

I guess I am. I still have stuff from my grade school days. It's hard for me to let go.

I lent some of my readings to my DS kiddies and unfortunately, one pack got lost. I don't know how it got lost, but it just disappeared. I just realized the other day that inside that pack was one of my most treasured long test results. I couldn't do anything now but just let go of that piece of paper that once served as a concrete reminder that I could survive in DS. Now, it's gone.

True, I am a pack rat. It's hard for me to let go--but, I must.

"Have Faith"

Wednesday, July 23, 2008
I have to admit it, I still often feel scared. I feel so small, so worthless, so helpless. I feel that I can't do anything.

I can only make mistakes. Mistakes that can only cause pain.

But there is forgiveness. There is hope. There is love.

No matter what happens, I'll just have to keep my Faith burning. I'll just have to hang on to it. No matter how wrong I am, I can still be forgiven. I will still be loved.

Hay.

Say not, "I am too young."

Book of Jeremiah 1,1.4-10.

The words of Jeremiah, son of Hilkiah, of a priestly family in Anathoth, in the land of Benjamin. The word of the LORD came to me thus: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you. "Ah, Lord GOD!" I said, "I know not how to speak; I am too young." But the LORD answered me, Say not, "I am too young." To whomever I send you, you shall go; whatever I command you, you shall speak. Have no fear before them, because I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD. Then the LORD extended his hand and touched my mouth, saying, See, I place my words in your mouth! This day I set you over nations and over kingdoms, To root up and to tear down, to destroy and to demolish, to build and to plant.

Pivot Table

Monday, July 21, 2008
Salamat sa Pivot Table at nakasurvive ako today. :)

O diba. I love Excel. KRV, turuan mo pa ako. :P

do what is right, love what is good, and walk humbly with your God

Book of Micah 6,1-4.6-8.

Hear, then, what the LORD says: Arise, present your plea before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice! Hear, O mountains, the plea of the LORD, pay attention, O foundations of the earth! For the LORD has a plea against his people, and he enters into trial with Israel. O my people, what have I done to you, or how have I wearied you? Answer me! For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, from the place of slavery I released you; And I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow before God most high? Shall I come before him with holocausts, with calves a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with myriad streams of oil? Shall I give my first-born for my crime, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? You have been told, O man, what is good, and what the LORD requires of you: Only to do right and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God.

Mahal ko kayong lahat. ♥.

This is the Birthday Entry

Hm.

Noong Biyernes hanggang Sabado, nasa ISEW for new non-teaching staff kami ni partner King. I was refreshed on the different Jesuit and Ignatian matters. I was reminded of "the Ateneo way," and yun. Hahaha. Pero yun, sobrang galing, napabilib talaga ako. Noong ikalawang araw, tinapos namin ang araw with a Mass. Ayun. Sobrang ganda ng Misa. :) Hehe, ako pa nagbasa. :) Ay, at tsaka the group grilled me in front of Fr. Ben. Hahaha. Haynaku. They gave me a cake din pala. Ang saya ng birthday ko no? Dami ko nga raw pakain eh. Hehe.

:) Yey. They gave me a cake! And they had "banners" hehehe. :) Ang cute nila. Ang sweet. Biruin mo, I think they've only known me for a little less than two months, pero they did that for me! Nobody ever gave me a surprise before. Yey for PVolt. Super Love ko sila! :) Ang hardworkers pa talaga nila. Kita mo ang commitment nila eh. Biruin mo, they give up their Saturdays?! Wow talaga. That's what you call commitment. :)

Ayun. I promised my alaga MonQue kasi that I'll watch (alam naman ng lahat na sobrang spoiled sa akin ng aking mga DS kiddies.. kita mo nga ang DevSoc GA this year! :P pero sikret ko nalang yun with the EB :P). :) Ang galing nung play. :) Yey.

Haha. At marami ring cake. Haha. Kasi nga diba, may leftover from the cake from OMIOD, then the cake from PVolt, then pag-uwi ko may Goldilocks, Red Ribbon, at syempre, Estrel's cake pa. Haha. Cake galore.

Can I just say, na ang sabaw na nito..

Which brings me to the next point. Hahaha. Nuff said. Ayun. Pero naaliw ako. :) Proud apo. Sobrang inspired ako maging tulad niya. :) At na-inspire din ako kay Doc Hof. :) Yey. Ang galing galing galing nilang lahat.

Well, yun lang.

Ayoko na, inaantok na ako. :)

Surprise

Thursday, July 10, 2008
I never had anyone do a surprise thing for me. I've always wondered how it felt, and I've also always wondered if someone would ever do something like that for me. But nevertheless, surprise or no surprise, I'm happy. I'm loved.

When we Love

The world does not need to know. Just let them feel how much you love them. Do everything for them. You don't need to be acknowledged for loving them, seeing them happy is enough.

They don't need to know that you did that for them. They don't even have to say "thank you." What I just hope is that they would recognize that someone loved them first, and I hope that they would be moved to love others also.

You don't need to know that it was I who loved you...

umbrella

Now I won't need to bring Matthew's EK umbrella. :) My Pathways family gave me a pink payong for my birthday. Ang aga magbigay ng regalo ano? I'm happy. Super happy.

JenTan, may sariling payong na ako ulit! :P Buhay pa ba yung sa iyo? :)

Phone Book

Wednesday, July 09, 2008

Jesus sent out these twelve

Vatican Council II
Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, «Lumen Gentium», 20

"Jesus sent out these twelve "

The divine mission, entrusted by Christ to the apostles, will last until the end of the world,(Mt 28,20) since the Gospel they are to teach is for all time the source of all life for the Church. And for this reason the apostles, appointed as rulers in this society, took care to appoint successors. For they not only had helpers in their ministry,(Acts 6,2-6; 11,30) but also, in order that the mission assigned to them might continue after their death, they passed on to their immediate co-operators, as it were, in the form of a testament, the duty of confirming and finishing the work begun by themselves, recommending to them that they attend to the whole flock in which the Holy Spirit placed them to shepherd the Church of God.(Acts 20,28) They therefore appointed such men, and gave them the order that, when they should have died, other approved men would take up their ministry.

Among those various ministries which, according to tradition, were exercised in the Church from the earliest times, the chief place belongs to the office of those who, appointed to the episcopate, by a succession running from the beginning, are passers-on of the apostolic seed. Thus, as St. Irenaeus testifies, through those who were appointed bishops by the apostles, and through their successors down in our own time, the apostolic tradition is manifested and preserved.

Bishops, therefore, with their helpers, the priests and deacons, have taken up the service of the community, presiding in place of God over the flock, whose shepherds they are, as teachers for doctrine, priests for sacred worship, and ministers for governing. And just as the office granted individually to Peter, the first among the apostles, is permanent and is to be transmitted to his successors, so also the apostles' office of nurturing the Church is permanent, and is to be exercised without interruption by the sacred order of bishops.

Pilgrim's Theme

Saturday, July 05, 2008
- Johnny Go, SJ

Tired of weaving dreams too loose for me to wear
Tired of watching clouds repeat their dance on air
Tired of getting tired of doing what's required
Is life a mere routine in the greater scheme of things

Through with taking roads someone else designed
Through with chasing stars that soon forget to shine
Through with going through one more day - what's new
Does my life still mean a thing in the greater scheme of things

REFRAIN 1:
I think I'll follow the voice that calls within
Dance to the silent song it sings
I hope to find my place
So my life can fall in place
I know in time I'll find my place
In the greater scheme of things

Each must go his way, but how can I decide
Which path I should take, who will be my guide
I need some kind of star to lead me somewhere far
To find a higher dream in the greater scheme of things

The road before me bends, I don't know what I'll find
Will I meet a friend or ghosts I left behind
Should I even be surprised that You're with me in disguise
For it's Your hand I have seen in the greater scheme of things (REFRAIN 1)

BRIDGE:
For Yours is the voice in my deepest dreams
You are the heart, the very heart
Of the greater scheme of things (REFRAIN 1)

REFRAIN 2:
Why don't we follow the voice that calls within
Dance to the silent song it sings
One day we'll find our place
For all things fall in place
For all things have a place
In the greater scheme of things

Panahon na naman ng Discernment sa ANI.

There.

Friday, July 04, 2008

"Welcome to the student formation world! :)"

This is it.

You who trample upon

Book of Amos 8,4-6.9-12.

Hear this, you who trample upon the needy and destroy the poor of the land! "When will the new moon be over," you ask, "that we may sell our grain, and the sabbath, that we may display the wheat? We will diminish the ephah, add to the shekel, and fix our scales for cheating! We will buy the lowly man for silver, and the poor man for a pair of sandals; even the refuse of the wheat we will sell!" On that day, says the Lord GOD, I will make the sun set at midday and cover the earth with darkness in broad daylight. I will turn your feasts into mourning and all your songs into lamentations. I will cover the loins of all with sackcloth and make every head bald. I will make them mourn as for an only son, and bring their day to a bitter end. Yes, days are coming, says the Lord GOD, when I will send famine upon the land: Not a famine of bread, or thirst for water, but for hearing the word of the LORD. Then shall they wander from sea to sea and rove from the north to the east In search of the word of the LORD, but they shall not find it.

Daanan

Wednesday, July 02, 2008
Parang ganoon.
