sense of home

yesterday, when we were on our way to bf parañaque, i felt a sense of being at home.. i suddenly forgot that i now lived at san juan.. i thought we just came from somewhere and were already going home to our house in bf parañaque.. =C but then reality struck me. it has been almost three years since we moved to our new house at san juan, yet my heart still finds it hard to accept that fact.. that house is just a house.. it's not a home for me.. so you may ask, what is the difference of a HOUSE and a HOME?

let me share to you something i learned from a priest during one the many sermons i've heard during Masses..

HOUSE.. a house is just an architectural structure.. simply put, "four walls and a roof".. the literal translation of the word house is BAHAY.. BAHAY- Y --> BAHA.. baha, or flood symbolizes chaos, hardships, or problems a family encounters in a HOUSE.. but a HOME.. the home goes beyond that perception.. it is something abstract, like love, or heaven.. again, its literal translation is TAHANAN.. TAHA+ NA -->TAHANA(N) .. "taha na" are words used for reassurance.. these are words a mother uses when her child is hurt.. when her child is crying.. it is a symbol of the love and comfort a HOME brings to a family..

so.. am i making a point here? :) i do hope so.. just wanted to share a point that i think is very important.. a HOME may not be a physical structure.. one may feel at home in a group of people.. one may feel at home anywhere.. yet, a HOUSE is jsut a structure.. a material thing that may be lost...

anyway, enough about HOMEs and HOUSEs.. i got to go now to attend to important things (naks!).. see yah! :)
