Reports

Friday, May 06, 2011
I don't like (dislike) writing reports. I'm currently making one, and it's taking away all of my patience. What to do? I still have three more levels to make. I'm done with sixth grade. Just High one, two, and four to go. I wish the report could write itself.

Corner of the Sky

Corner of the Sky
[PIPPIN]

Everything has its season
Everything has its time
Show me a reason and I'll soon show you a rhyme
Cats fit on the windowsill
Children fit in the snow
Why do I feel I don't fit in anywhere I go?

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

Every man has his daydreams
Every man has his goal
People like the way dreams have
Of sticking to the soul
Thunderclouds have their lightning
Nightingales have their song
And don't you see I want my life to be
Something more than long....

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

So many men seem destined
To settle for something small
But I won't rest until I know I'll have it all
So don't ask where I'm going
Just listen when I'm gone
And far away you'll hear me singing
Softly to the dawn:

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

Blurred

Wednesday, May 04, 2011
The pains of being young--not knowing where to go, not knowing what to do. The world is too uncertain. There is no structure to follow. Freedom is not liberating, it suffocates.

Where do I go? Will I stay where I am, or explore more?

The future looks uncertain.

Little becomes much when we put it in the Master’s hands

Saturday, January 22, 2011
22 January 2011

Dear Friend,

Shalom.

It is my desire to go to Spain this August 2011. I am looking forward to two things—the MAGIS experience, and the World Youth Day. They say experience is the best teacher. I am excited to experience new things and learn a lot of things from this trip. I look forward to the Ignatian formation that MAGIS will provide in Loyola—the very roots of our Father Ignatius. I am excited with this description written in the MAGIS website: “Twenty days to SHARE your time with other young adults, to CELEBRATE life, to LEARN something about yourself, about our world, and about God. A chance to PRAY for growth. Time to ACCOMPANY other people and to take a look into others stories. To LIVE TOGETHER in this way, perhaps you will discover many other reasons that make this life a fascinating opportunity.” (www.magis2011.org/) In the World Youth Day, I am excited to be united with millions of young people to proclaim our Faith.

I’ve always believed that formation is an investment in the goodness of the human person. Now I am writing to ask you to invest in me. I’ve never been good at selling stuff, but here I am now, taking this opportunity to ask you to invest in me. Let me tell you a bit more about myself—I am Jaymee Duran, I earn just enough by working full time in the Christian Life Community (CLC) Formation Institute. I handle the formation of our youth members and outside clients. Think: Campus Ministry but outside the structure of a school. I believe that this trip to Spain would make me a better person, a better minister for the youth.

I need to raise USD 2,000.00 to go to Spain. I only have a little, but when we put together all our “littles” then it becomes much. “Little becomes much when we put it in the Master’s hands.” It would be just enough for that trip to Spain. I’ve been always amazed by the gospel of the multiplication of the bread. Through it I’ve learned to trust that God will indeed provide.

Will you help me with this desire of mine? Will you share your “little” and with me put it in the Master’s hand? My bank account details are Banco de Oro, account name Jasmine Marie Elaine Duran, account number 1560130146. Please inform me for any deposits made for proper documentation and acknowledgment.

¡Muchas gracias! Vaya con Dios.

Hoping for your generosity,

Jaymee Duran

Sleepy

Saturday, August 14, 2010
I'm so sleepy. Really, really sleepy. :( I just want to lie down on my bed and sleep for about 10 hours. I've been taking naps here and there, but still, it's an effort to stay awake. My head's aching now 'cause I'm forcing myself to stay awake. I think I'm gonna get sick. I've been sneezing, and my throats painful.

I just want to sleeeep. Please. :(

Birthday Wishlist

Saturday, June 12, 2010
Since it's exactly a month before my 23rd! I just want to list down stuff that I like. Haha, I don't expect these naman talaga, pero I just want to give myself a chance to explore. Some of these would be extremely impossible to get, I know, pero yun, just let me be. Haha. This is just a fun post. :)

1. MacBook. Para makapag-retiro na ang aking iBook G4. I promise to donate my iBook G4 to CLC Formation Institute when I get a new laptop. Haha, kahit na hindi MacBook! :P Huy, very reliable pa rin ang iBook G4 ko ha!

2. Nintendo DS. Kahit hindi DSi, ayos na sa akin ang NDS. Nabaha ang luma kong unit, and I really really miss playing Mario :(

3. Handy-dandy-sturdy payong! Weather has been irritatingly-unpredictable! I need a payong in my bag!

4. iPod Touch Speakers. Basta hindi masyadong mabigat at bulky dalhin. Haha, it would greatly help with my ministry.

5. iPod Touch 4th Gen accessories: Apple USB Power Adapter, Case, Headphones (yung may mic din!)

6. Any C.S. Lewis book. I'm not yet complete with my Narnia series. I'd also love a copy of the Screwtape Letters.

7. Any Henri Nouwen book. I also have a number of his books, so baka ok magtanong if ever. :P

8. Facilitate a Teen Treats recollection! Haha. Lalo na kung CLCer ka! Daliiiiiiii. May link sa Wall ko ng details!

9. Any ACGC CD. Contact Guita Gopalan. She's my friend here in FB, message niyo.

10. Liturgical songs--books, music sheets, study CDs. For my choir! Haha.

11. A box of Leone black ballpens. Pwede rin hindi one box. Pwedeng isa lang. Haha, pero FYI, nakakaubos ako ng isang ganito in just a few weeks. :P

12. New jeans, blouses, shirts, jackets. I got bigger this year. >.<

13. DVDs of GREAT movies (I'd love musicals, old movies, or classic Filipino movies). Pwede rin complete seasons ng AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER, ALIAS, X-FILES (haha, old school), BEN TEN.

14. Surprise!

15. Bonding session! Dinner, Breakfast (ate Judy, ako manlilibre this time, tho!), Lunch, Movie (Vinia, ito gift mo sa akin right? 3D na LAST AIRBENDER?), Cranium Wow! Session, whatevs else.

16. Personal letter/birthday card

17. Children's books for my collection.

18. Pet turtle. Hahahaha, eto na naman ako....

19. Backpack. Yung may lagayan ng laptop.

20. Yung machine na pang-bind ng books.

21. Laminating machine.

22. 2-way ticket to India! I NEED to see my Rugrats! Kung wala, 2-way ticket to Davao nalang, para makapunta ako sa CLC National Convention sa October 23-24.

23. Kahit ano. :) Love you!
