If you want to pray in your heart and are not able, be content to pray with your lips and keep your mind attentive to what you are saying. Little by little the Lord will also give you the grace of interior prayer and then you will know how to pray without distractions. Don't try to bring about prayer of the heart by using techniques; you would risk harming your heart and, in the end, you would only be praying with the lips. Acknowledge the rule of the spiritual life: God grants his gifts to those who are humble and without guile. Be obedient; don't overdo things, whether in food, speech, or whatever you undertake. Then the Lord himself will give you the grace of interior prayer...

Spiritual silence is born of the desire to fulfil Christ's command: «Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul... with all your strength,» (Mk 12,30). It is a silence brought about by the search for the living God in anyone who wants to be free from this world's temptations so that they can find our Lord in fullness of love and live in his presence in pure prayer. Lord, how could I not seek you? You have revealed yourself to my soul in such an amazing way! You have made it a prisoner of your love and it cannot forget you. Indeed, the soul recognises its Lord all at once in the Holy Spirit; who can describe this joy, this consolation? The Holy Spirit acts within the whole man, mind, soul and body; even so is God acknowledged, on earth as in heaven. In his infinite goodness the Lord has granted this grace to me –sinner that I am – so that men might know him and turn back to him.

We're heading back to Guimaras next month (May 12-15) to do a librarian training workshop, not just for the Sta. Teresa National High School but for 30-40 participants representing the 17 high schools and representatives of the 99 elementary schools on the island.

Mrs. Lourdes T. David, Director of the Ateneo de Manila Rizal Library, has generously volunteered her personal time and expertise, to conduct this workshop for the schools on the island in coordination with the efforts of Guimaras DepEd District Superintendent, Ms. Meriem Collado, and the local government, headed by no less than Governor Felipe Nava.

In this regard, we are calling out to those who may want to sponsor/donate any of the following library materials to form part of the schools' starter kits: (quantities are estimates only for initial supply requirements; donations to sustain library operations most welcome!)

• 1,000 pcs library borrowers cards (ready-made cards available in bookstores)-
  
• 3,000 pcs 3X5 index cards
• 40 bottles of Elmer's Glue (130-gm bottles) or glue sticks

Patatas

I just finished peeling a hundred potatoes (well, not really a hundred haha) for the lunch of our ANI kids tomorrow. :) Iyon lang. I'm happy about that.

Hmm. Eto kwento, this afternoon two of my big bosses dropped by the office. At nawindang ang Jaymee. :P There were there for about an hour or so, but about 5 minutes before they left, they told me "Gawa ka nga ng letter para kay Atty. Andin at Sec. Puno--" (ako naman, taking down notes, akala ko homework) "--dadalhin na namin ngayon na."

Haha! Now na pala. :P So I wrote the letters hurriedly. :)


Ayun. That's my second week of work. I had my interview last night. :)

Dahil makulit si Kristine Mais

Kahit na ginawa ko na ito dati dahil naman kay JenTan, gagawin ko raw ulit dahil ika nga ng anak kong mais "mahal mo naman ako eh" abaaa! Assuming ang bata.

Kailangan ko raw maglista ng walong bagay na hindi alam ng nakararami tungkol sa akin. Ito na:

1. OC ako maghugas ng eating utensils. Kailangan baso muna, tapos spoons and forks, then the plates. Kailangan sobrang linis!

2. When I set the table kailangan din lahat ng spoons and forks ay magkaparehas. Hindi pwedeng magkaiba ang design nung spoon sa partner niyang fork. Pet peeve ko ang mismatched spoons and forks. :-S

3. I collect children's books. :)

4. In labelling my books, I write the following: my signature, date the book was bought (or when I received the book), where I got the book (e.g. NBS - Cubao, or name of giver), and price of book.

5. I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid. Then I learnt there was a height requirement. :-S

6. I really wanted to play the clarinet. Ang cool kasi eh. Majority ay boys ang tumutugtog non, so I thought na cool kapag isang girl ay nagcclarinet. Tapos astig na kapag nasira yung reed ko ay pupunta ako sa music store! yey. Haha. May reason ako pumunta sa music store. :P

7. I have a thing for new sheets. :P I get all happy when my bed has new sheets. :)

8. May job interview ako sa Ateneo Personnel's Office next week. Hahahahaha. :P

Sewing session

Dapat kagabi pa ang entry, pero yun. Panay ang tulog. Haha. Tapos kagabi naglambing ang kuya kaya napanood tuloy ako ng isang weird na movie: "Spaceballs". Lumang sine na siya, sabi ni kuya 10 years old daw siya nang una niya iyong panoorin. So kamusta naman yun, 3 years old ako non? :P Sobrang sabaw nung sine, spoof ng mga sine na Star Wars, Star Trek, at iba pa na hindi ko na alam kasi nga hindi ko naman panahon iyon. Medyo green nga lang ang humor, kaya yun.

Kahapon inorient ko ang choir head ng ANI. Si Geoff yun, ang bagong adik sa grupo. Ayun, nagamit ko naman ang mga natutuhan ko sa mga seminar na napuntahan ko sa CMO, at yung mga Mass Deepening dati. Siya yung gitarista rin kasi kaya binigyan ko ng mga guidelines. Basta, ipinasa ko lamang sa kanya ang mga alam ko tungkol sa "Liturgical" guitar playing. Excited na ako para sa kanila. Sayang at wala ako sa unang Misa na sponsored ng ANI. Simba kayo kung pwede kayo. Tuwing Lunes sa College Chapel. :)

Nagbigay kami ni Cholo ng SEW (Self-Enhancement Workshop) kahapon sa Batch 6. :) Ayos naman, I handled 35 kids. Ang topic ay Social Responsibility, so kilig naman. Hay. Tapos yun. Dumating si Kuya Nikko at binigyan kami ni Cholo ng cake. Haha.

Tapos hang out with Alyana and KRV sa Jollibee ulit. Pero di ko ma-get masyado ang mga pinaguusapan nila kasi nagiging technical sila. Kaya nakipag-text nalang ako. Kapoy na rin kasi dahil sa init. Pero ayos lang. Worth it. :)

Kahit na stress ito, alam ko sa sarili ko na ito ang gusto kong gawin. Kanina noong pinagmamasdan ko ang Batch 6 habang kinakausap sila ni Kuya Nikko, sabi ko sa sarili ko na ito na nga ang gusto ko talaga. Ang alagaan ang mga batang iyon at ang makita na may mabuti silang magagawa para sa kapwa at lipunan nila. Iyon ang talagang makakapagpasaya sa akin.

Ikaapat na araw sa trabaho. Sobrang busy na kasi ilang linggo na lamang bago ang event namin. Pero I did not blog tonight to write a status report. Stop na muna haha.

My new practicumer came in today. I oriented him on his tasks and other stuff. Naghahanap pa ako ng dalawang practicumer. Haha, sorry nalang sa kanilang apat pero masungit akong boss. Tanungin niyo kay Lilac.

I met with Cholo today. Yun lang. Haha. Hello Cholo. After that I met with Camille (Chuaquico), and she told me about her experience in ANI so far. :) Yey, I'm so proud of her. Almost all of the core who hangs out in our Faculty Room know her already. Ayun. She's having a great time in ANI. Core! Alagaan ha. And we have a picture! Xie, ikaw nalang.

ANI Core meeting kanina! Weekly yun, every Wednesday 630 - 830. Pero we ended late kasi ang haba ng kamustahan. Haha. :) I learnt that Mikey (yung anak ko sa ES) is the OIC for English Lit. Yey! Winner ang text niya. Yey talaga.

Dami naming plano ni KRV for ANI! Ayun. :) Project management dear ha.

Tapos yun. TJ brought me home pero before that, guess what. Dumaan kami sa Pathways. At yun. :P Hello Cholo ulit.
